ReadON is a decentralized content aggregation and distribution platform deployed on the Arbitrum network. It has completed a $2 million funding round led by SevenX Ventures. Developed by a team from Google, TikTok, and other backgrounds, the ReadON DAO app is currently in public beta. Through the use of Game-Fi mechanisms and systems, we aim to rediscover the experience of deep reading, create a community of readers, encourage the spread of high-quality content, and return the power of information dissemination to users.
There is a fundamental difference between ReadON and traditional Gamefi projects: ReadON NFTs essentially serve as a user's attention economy certificate, which will generate more external benefits in the future product form. Holding this identity certificate entitles users to earn a share of external benefits such as advertising, thus avoiding the common death spiral of traditional Gamefi projects.
NFTs
At present, ReadON has not launched any NFT or listed tokens yet. In the early stages of Gamfi projects, an unhealthy proportion of economic structures may inevitably exist, so our team strictly controls the number of NFTs. As the ReadON app is completely free to use, we will gradually increase the number of NFTs available on the market to ensure the healthy development of the project as external revenue increases with the growing user base. During this period, we hope to gather users’ feedback to create a more prosperous content ecosystem and a more user-friendly app version. ReadON regards every user as a supporter and sponsor of the project, and we firmly believe that this philosophy will bring better returns to users in the future.
Earn Points
During the beta testing phase of the app, users can earn "points" as rewards for reading and participating in interactions through daily check-ins, tasks, and achievements. To create a dynamic and healthy environment for ReadON's early stage, the platform has introduced ReadON Beta Box as an unique NFT forge system. It combines non-tradeable points and tradeable NFTs to create a dynamic and healthy environment for ReadON's early stages. ReadON Beta Box can be exchanged for points and contains three parts: Catto Parts, Shopping Carts, and $READ Token Vouchers. By opening blind boxes, users can collect a set of NFT parts and mint exclusive Catto NFTs that suit their preferences for free while enjoying the fun of reading.
Bullet chats and tipping
ReadON has launched decentralized bullet chats and tipping features, which store bullet chats content on-chain to enhance user privacy and data security, reduce content review and intervention, and improve communication security and reliability. Users can publish three free on-chain super bullet chats per day and tip their favorite videos. The tipping function allows creators to receive rewards in cryptocurrency, providing new revenue sources and fans for traditional video creators without platform limitations. ReadON aims to increase user engagement and communication value while protecting privacy and data security, building a more valuable information exchange platform.
MPC Wallet
In terms of usage, ReadON has introduced MPC wallet and a smoother user experience to lower the entry barrier for Web2 users, aiming to bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3. The ultimate goal of ReadON is to create a one-stop platform for obtaining information, aiming to build the backbone infrastructure for the next generation of blogs, news, and forums.
